The company began operating registered freight equipment under the name in the mid-2000s. In 2007, Flint Hills Resources rostered only 33 freight cars. By the end of 2011, the company included over a thousand cars with 930 of them in service or ordered under the FHRX reporting marks. Included are data where known showing the build dates, builder, current quantity (in service or on order), equipment type code, DOT/AAR tank classification, the presence or absence of tank insulation and coils, outside dimensional data in both U.S. and metric units, weight data in U.S. and metric units, volumetric data in U.S. and metric units, and known original car series or number range.
