This stirring sequel to "War Raven" is set in Roman Pompeii at the height of its splendour and barbarity.

The young Clodian is approaching manhood, and his father employs the prominent gladiator trainer, Belua, to complete his martial training. Yet, Clodian's ambitions also run in a very different direction to those his father has mapped out for him, notably when he meets the Greek physician - Neo.

But, there are treacherous forces at work in the shape of Flavia, the new wife of Clodian's father. The young and sensual Flavia will go to any lengths to remove all obstacles to her goal of obtaining absolute control of Pompeii's leading noble house.
