Elinor De Wire, one of the most distinguished lighthouse historians in the USA, has been researching and photographing lighthouses for more than 40 years. She is the author of many books and articles about lighthouses and has received numerous awards, including the Ben Franklin Book Award, the Coast Guard Award, and the National League of Pen Women Award for Short Fiction. She serves as the Education Chair for the U.S. Lighthouse Society. She lives in Connecticut.
