Flying South No. 1, 2014 is a debut literary journal from Winston-Salem, NC. It features the winners of the Winston-Salem Writers' anthology contest in poetry (Janet Joyner, Steve Cushman, Mary Jo Balstreri), flash fiction (Grace Ellis, Janet Joyner, Angell Caudill), short story (Janet Joyner, Joan Leotta, Michele Tracy Berger), creative nonfiction (Mark Havlik, Lynn Veach Sadler, Michele Tracy Berger), and 10-minute play (Marilynn Barner Anselmi, Serena Cates). It also includes bonus essays by invited guests Steve Mitchell, Carol Roan and Stan Washburn.
