Notă biografică
I grew up in a small Italian family. I was an only child born of an only child. So I spent my time with adults cooking in the kitchen for as long as I can remember. I learned a lot growing up, but I have my own style. I have taken some cooking classes here and there however I am self-taught. One of my earliest memories is standing on a stool in my great grandmothers (who spoke Italian) kitchen stirring a pot of sauce. Cooking is in my blood. The life I have lived has led to this point. Cooking from the age of two, moving tons. (16 schools by the time I graduated from high school). At 11 I had a neighbor form Louisiana I became her mother's helper, She introduced me to okra and gumbo, I found I loved southern food and wanted to know everything she would teach me. Every time we moved was an opportunity to meet new people and find exciting flavors. Growing up with an Italian upbringing and marrying into a Cuban family, I have melted my cooking into an eclectic style. Where I have found my self during all these transitions is in the kitchen. Families come together in the kitchen what better way to get to know each other faster than by cooking and eating together. I met my husband over twenty years ago within months I was cooking dinner for my soon to be in-laws in their kitchen. Between my Italian upbringing, blending into my Cuban family, living on the west coast, west, midwest and the south, my cooking touches many people. People are always asking for my recipes. I work hard to get them just right. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my family love their food. My travels influence my food. I find it exciting eating my way through a destination.
