Franklin Pierce in Death of a Vice President is a thrilling gothic psychological horror, starring the president from the 1850's you forgot in 4th Grade. It's a really fun read, and you don't have to be familiar with Franklin Pierce at all to enjoy the story (in fact, I think it's a better story if you go in knowing almost nothing).
