Born in Grasse in 1947 as the son of a perfume maker, Jean-Claude Ellena began his training at the age of sixteen in the establishments Antoine Chiris before joining the Givaudan school in Geneva in 1968. Having worked for different brands and creating many successful perfumes, he became in 2004 the exclusive perfume maker for Hermes.
