1886-1887 was a time of tremendous change for the small river community of Osceola Wisconsin. As many as 270 paddleboats provided transportation for settlers moving into Wisconsin and shipping grains, lumber and raw materials down to the Mississippi. The railroad was coming and would forever change the lives of Osceola's citizens and the way they do business by bringing them into a new world of economic growth and opportunity.
