Mariella Doose Harper, an intrepid author, fulfilled her childhood dream of exploring the world. Growing up in Clovis, New Mexico during the 1940s and 1950s, Mariella's parents encouraged her aspirations. She graduated from Baylor University in 1958 and embarked on an extraordinary two-year solo journey abroad. Upon returning, she met and married her fellow adventurer, Bill Harper. From 1958 to 1983, they traversed Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, and the Far East, raising their sons, Hance and Scott, along the way.
