Follow the life of Nadine Okunnug, a tall, beautiful and fiercely proud young woman at odds with the world around her. Born in the City of Winnipeg to an Anishinaabe First Nations father and an Irish-Canadian mother, and raised in Galway, Ireland, Nadine has always felt out of place. Returning to Manitoba, Land of her Ancestors, Nadine enrolls at the University of Winnipeg and begins exploring her identity and sexuality. Along the way Nadine meets Jamal Osman, a tall, dark and handsome Somali Muslim student from the University of Manitoba.
