English summary: Soccer is the engine of sports law. Its economic, social and political dimensions are extensive they correlate with numerous questions in national and international sports law. To these belong the legal challenges in the marketing of sport law, in the space of sporting events, for the protection of the integrity of athletic competition as well as issues concerning labor and arbitration procedures. Solutions for these legal questions have developed a positive impulse for the advancement of sports law in general. This lends considerable weight to the presentations of the Fifth Cologne Symposium on Sports Law. The current conference proceedings outline prominent issues in soccer law.
