This map shows how Ireland's historic city of Galway is plotted onto a detailed modern base. Over 200 sites and streets covering 600 years are depicted in color and are listed in an accompanying index. Town walls, bridges, churches, gallows, public buildings, schools, theaters, and wells are among the sites shown, many of which no longer survive in the present-day cityscape. It is an ideal aid for a walking tour of historic Galway. A booklet is attached that contains a commentary on the urban development of Galway and gives a chronological list of sites included on the map.
