Gcse Medieval British History

'GCSE Medieval British History' covers the new (2016+) medieval components of each of the main exam board GCSE specifications (AQA, Edexcel and OCR). This is the only textbook currently available to directly cover the medieval requirements of the new GCSE specifications, or to present the material appropriately for 14 to 16 year olds.

Designed with both teachers and students in mind, chapters are structured around a number of key issues, each of which directly addresses an aspect of the new specifications. The book provides broad period overviews with detailed case studies of key reigns and monarchs, and also considers important themes such as the development of Parliament and of Britain, revolts and rebellions, and the emergence of towns. Each chapter contains a compelling narrative interwoven with questions and tasks employing a variety of source material, all of which is designed to allow students to consolidate their learning and to develop the important skills needed for success in the examination room. 'GCSE Medieval British History' is a unique collaboration between History teachers at school (St Paul's School, London) and university (University of East Anglia), and is written in a manner that will provide teachers with additional background and material and provide extension and challenge to motivated students.

The book is published in a conventional print format but is also available as an ebook and offers additional interactive extensions through continually updated digital resources.
