MICHAEL S. LINDBERG received a PhD in Geography from the University of Manitoba, and has been with the Department of Geography and Environmental Planning at Elmhurst College, near Chicago since 1995. His research has focused on various aspects of the world's small navies and the relationships between navies and their industrial support infrastructure. He is the author of Navies and Shipbuilding Industries (with Daniel Todd) and The Persian Gulf Naval Arms Race: Myth or Reality? as well as several articles published in various naval journals.
