Recenzii
"A delight to adult and child." - Nature
"Humorous yet informative." - Science
"The Publisher does not guarantee Nobels for all of the children to whom this book is read, but about one in three of them should make it." - Hal Harris, Journal of Chemical Education
"This is such a beautiful book, and Arthur's poems wonderfully illustrate the forms and functions of little beasties called germs." - Kirstin Elliott, The Science Museum, London, UK
"...the poetic gem titled Germ Stories (ages 4 to 12) is Nobel prize winner Arthur Kornberg's last book, and it is a fanciful delight. Written "to all, young and old, who adore 'the little beasties,'" it suits microbiologists of any age...The strength of the stories is that they are simultaneously fun to read and educational. Any child (or adult) fascinated by germs will enjoy reading this wonderful book." - Elizabeth Emmert, BioScience, October 2008
'Germ Stories does well in making microbiology interesting to kids, and it would surely make a brilliant addition to any primary school library. Children who have already shown an interest in science will undoubtedly be inspired to learn more about microbes by this book. The poems themselves are good enough to be brilliant reading practice for everyone else in the class! But I can't help but wonder how many adults, such as myself, who already love all things microscopic, will be hiding it between the covers of their serious scientific journals and reading it along with the children it was originally written for!' - Ilovebacteria.com
