ghosts don't have bodies

Autor Evy Klassen
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 5 apr 2023 – vârsta până la 11 ani
You and I are alive. We live inside our bodies and express ourselves through our bodies. Many of us can do fun things like eat jam and toast, hike up mountains, dance to our favourite music and see each other's faces. Others of us are more limited in what we can do. But one thing all bodies have in common is that they allow us to experience the world, ourselves, and each other. Through playful rhymes and engaging artwork, all the things that make our bodies special are celebrated - from the colour of our eyes to the texture of our hair, our dancing feet to our ability to heal. This sweet, inclusive book encourages young readers to listen to their bodies and practice self-love. It offers the perfect opportunity to open conversations about body acceptance. Every body is different, and all bodies are good.

Notă biografică

Evy is a writer and a body-haver who lives in Stó:l¿ Téméxw (the Fraser Valley in British Columbia). She discovered her flair for poetry when she spontaneously wrote Wake Up, a 9-minute spoken-word poem about colonialism in Canada (www.evybody.com). Ghosts Don't Have Bodies took shape a year later as a personal reflection before transforming into this fun children's story. Evy is grateful for her husband, children, grandchildren, and YOU, who have enriched her joy in having a body. About the Illustrator: ME Kingcott's artwork was on display at a friend's concert when Evy first noticed it. As soon as she saw the whimsical creatures, Evy knew they would pair perfectly with her story. Two years earlier, Marilyn began her journey of drawing dots within a circle, curious to see what would emerge. This daily discipline of connecting the dots led to her own discovery of hidden artistic talents and more than 400 illustrations.
