Recenzii
Neil Kinnock, European Commissioner for Transport
Mr Turro's book is timely, welcome and - because he has been involved in the appraisal of most of the major transport infrastructure projects carried out in Europe in the last decade - authoritative. Mr Turro provides an important contribution to the debate on the future of the TEN-T, particularly in the emphasis he gives to integration...A Single Market and integrating Community ugently needs the benefit of efficient physical and technical Transport Networks. Mr Turro's thoroughness and clarity will help us in the efforts to gain that advance.
Roger Vickerman
There can be few, if any, better qualified to provide this account ... It is clearly an influential and authoritative account and a contribution to the ongoing (and overdue) revision of the TEN guidelines. ... there is a lot that is thought provoking in the book, a lot that this reviewer found to agree with, a lot to question, and rather a lot left in the air. As a history it is valuable, as a polemic it is provocative in places ... for the surfer an added bonus; the maps (in colour) and tables are available on a dedicated web site.
Journal of Transport Geography
In this remarkable publication Mateu Turro takes you on an impressive trip through the past, present and future issues of transport policy on a European scale. The scientific rigour of his methodology is obvious... In eight, very dense but accessible, chapters, Mateu Turro explores these issues from all angles and clears the way for future progress. Essential reading for all those who are interested in European transport.

...an excellent background and analysis of the hurdles facing policy initiatives to anyone unfamiliar with the political environment of the European community....a must read for all thos responsible for the implementation of TENs policy. Turró has spent considerable time thinking about the various issues facing European integration and their possible solutions, and this is conveyed in his book.
