Notă biografică
Will Powers, Ph.D., is retired Professor Emeritus of Communication Studies at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. He has published over 150 books, articles and papers while conducting clinics and training programs around the world. Together with his wife, Lois, he has established a highly-successful management and career development consulting business showcasing the Tip-A-Day concept, a daily approach to developing enhanced communication skills. For the past 18 years, Will has been helping people in the workforce perform at quality levels while under pressure (including executives, managers, speakers and athletes of all types). This book is an effort to bring those years of experience and specialized knowledge to the golfing industry on a national level. Bob Strickland, M.S. has been bowling since 1958 and was a PBA member 1978 - 1993. He is the author of four bowling books - Perceptive Bowling, Bowling: Steps to Success, Teaching Bowling: Steps to Success, and Dynamic Customization. He has averaged over 200 since 1964, and his personal highs include a sanctioned 300/812, and an unsanctioned 300/847. In 1966, he was voted on the Dallas, Texas All-City team. In 1967, he was awarded an NDEA Title IV fellowship to pursue graduate study in science and education at the University of Georgia. Since then, he has successfully applied his scientific knowledge and educational training to bowling and other technical disciplines in his own, unique way. In 2000, Bob was voted into the Dallas Bowling Association Hall of Fame. Bob was a regular contributor to the Bowlers Journal's informative "Pro Shop Forum", and wrote a syndicated instructional column, "Perceptive Bowling Tips". He also wrote regular features for Pro Shop Today, the newspaper of the International Bowling Pro Shop and Instructors Association and for Bowling Industry magazine. He is a student of skill acquisition for a variety of sports and studied biomechanics and kinesiology at TWU in Denton, Texas . In 1989 and 1990, Bob and his wife, Sue, conducted clinics in Europe and Scandinavian countries, including Norway, Finland, Italy, England, Germany, Belgium and Holland. They also toured Korea, Japan, and Hawaii. Many of these clinics were interpreted into the native languages. They returned in 1991 to conduct a whirlwind tour of Sweden, Ireland, and Germany, and in 1993, trained Swiss National Bowling Coaches. They both enjoy studying and playing golf.
