Textul de pe ultima copertă
A pursuit in continuity. Graeme Mann and Patricia Capua Mann belong to those architects who share a same interest for
teaching and practice, two activities that mutually enhance each other. They have taught at the EPFL in workshops with
Mangeat, Chipperfield, Fretton, Campo Baeza, Zenghelis and were visiting Professors in 2006 - 2007.
In their architecture, despite the fact that every project has its own characteristics and responds to a precise context, one
can note a continuous and progressive research around the same themes: the use of strict geometrical principles, a creation
of spatial movement enhanced by appropriate structural study, a sensitive assembly of materials and great attention
towards the surrounding environment.
Several of their projects therefore have a similarity, although expressing different features and characteristics: a new and
original position in the eclectic ambiance which characterises the contemporary architectural scene and is the strength of
significant buildings such as the sports hall in Villaz-St-Pierre and the college in Gland.
