"I was pretty young at the beginning of the Depression. We were a large family and lived on a farm all the time, so we had plenty to eat..." Margaret Christensen was one of seventeen children born on an Idaho farm in 1923. After the Depression hit in 1929, her family made due with the resources available to them. But when her more fortunate classmates made fun of the flour-sack dresses she wore and laughed at the word "Flour" written across her seat, her heart was broken. Could she find happiness during the Depression years? Was there anything to be grateful for?
