Historically, Hollywood has always stereotyped various ethnic groups. Italian people are Mafiosi, Irish people are cops or priests, black people are dangerous, Hispanics are crooks and Asians are sly. But what about Jews? In an analysis of 20 films spanning a 75-year period, Henry Kellerman details the many ways in which Hollywood has created and perpetuated Jewish stereotypes since the dawn of filmmaking, depicting them as greedy, cowardly and weak.
