To represent the language according to its actual use, and not according to the theories or fancies of the Alexandrine and Byzantine grammarians; IV. Among his numerous publications are: 'A Grammar of the Greek Language,' 'A Lexicon to Xenophon's Anabasis,' and 'The Anabasis of Xenophon.'
