Descriere
GreenBean is worried that she does not belong in her family because she is different, but she discovers that belonging is about something else. Her blind brother reminds her not to confuse appearances with their family bond. Appreciating differences, nurturing uniqueness, and caring for each other are important for a child's sense of belonging with family and connection to the large world family.
Notă biografică
Elizabeth lives in the Pacific Northwest with her family. Her favorite activities include kayaking and growing many varieties of lavender and blueberries. As a child, she was adopted after being in foster care. In her family, everyone looked different and acted different from her. It took a long time for her to discover that belonging is about way more than being just like your family. Becoming independent at age 17, it took a long time to save money to attend college. Her first career was as a nurse, and later a pediatric nurse practitioner. After many years she attended art school and became an illustrator, as art is her first love.
