It was the best of times - for a kid - growing up in the 1940's. While the first half of the 1940's was war to adults, I had little idea of the problems the world was involved in. My world revolved around childhood fun and innocence. With great family and friends, and little understanding of the pressures in life that adults face, life could not have been better for a little kid. The outdoors, the holidays, the many experiences with nature, animals, sports and games were all fascinating, many humorous. There were the many "firsts" a child goes through that forms our lives. These could not have been experienced in a better setting than in Salt Lake City, Utah.
