Notă biografică
Tommaso Cai is the acting Director of Department of Urology, Santa Chiara Regional Hospital, Trento, Italy. He is the Secretary of the Italian Society of Andrology and chairman of the society’s Study Group on Urological Infections. He was appointed Full Professor of Urology (ASN – Italy) in 2019, and in 2015 became a member of the European Association of Urology’s guideline board on urological infections. Dr. Cai is the Editor-in-Chief of Uro, a journal of the MDPI group. He is the author of more than 350 publications (including book chapters and original articles) on issues relating to prostate and bladder cancer, andrology, urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted diseases, and the use of novel technologies. Dr. Cai is the vice-Chairman of the European Society for Infections in Urology (ESIU-EAU).
Truls Erik Bjerklund Johansen is em. Professor of Urology at the University of Oslo, Norway, and Adj. Professor of Experimental Urological Surgeryat the University of Aarhus, Denmark. He is senior consultant in general surgery and urology and was Chairman of the Urology Department, Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark from 2007 to 2012 before joining Oslo University Hospital. He was Professor of Medicine (Urology) and Chairman of the Norwegian Institute of Urology at the University of Tromsoe, Norway, from 1993 to 2001. His main research interests are urogenital infections, and minimally invasive treatment of prostate and kidney cancer. He has published numerous scientific papers and edited many books and is lead editor of the Living Textbook on Urogenital Infections, co-published by the EAU and the German Medical Society. He is past Chairman and honorary member of the European Society for Infections in Urology (ESIU), a full section of the European Association of Urology (EAU) and was member and co-chair of the EAU Guidelines Panel on Urinary Tract Infections for 16 years. He is hon. Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Eng) and honorary member of the Hungarian Ass. of Urology.
