This book provides guidance to parents, educators, institutions, agencies, and other organisations that interact with African-American males to inspire them to become successful adults. Additionally, because it is solution oriented and emphasises what can be done, this guide can be utilised by serious, mature black males, high school age and older, to aid in their growth and development. The book highlights six criteria that are found to impact African-American males toward successful development. The criteria are: 1) religious, spiritual, and ideological orientation; 2) positive mental attitude; 3) following the Nguzo Saba, the Seven Principles, emphasised in the African-American celebration of Kwanzaa; 4) knowledge of African and African-American culture and history; 5) social development; and 6) social capacity.
