Notă biografică
Dr Balamati Choudhury is a scientist at the Centre for Electromagnetics, CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore, India. She received her MTech. (ECE) from National Institute of Science and Technology, India and Ph.D. (Engg.) in Microwave Engineering from Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), India. During the period of 2006-2008, she was a Senior Lecturer in Department of Electronics and Communication at NIST, Orissa India.
Her active areas of research and teaching interests are in the domain of: soft computing techniques in electromagnetic design and optimization, computational electromagnetics for aerospace applications, metamaterial design applications, radio frequency (RF) and microwaves. She is a recipient of the CSIR-NAL Young Scientist Award for her contribution in the area of Computational Electromagnetics for Aerospace Applications as well the ICCCES/ Outstanding Young Investigator Award for her contributions to metamaterial science. Dr. Balamati has authored over 150 scientific research papers and technical reports, five Springer Briefs three book chapters, and two books. She is also an assistant professor of the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), New Delhi.
Prof. Dr. Vinod Kumar Tewary is a theoretical thysicist at the Applied Chemicals and Materials Division of the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) in Colorado, USA. He received his PhD in Solid State Physics from Delhi University. Since then, he has worked as a research associate in the Atomic Energy Research Establishment, in Harwell, UK; a professor of Physics and Dean of Research at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India, and as an adjunct professor at Ohio State University, Columbus.
His areas of research interest include multiscale modeling of nanostructures, modeling of mechanical properties of semiconductors and solid-state devices, crystal defects and photons in nanostructures, with special focus on lattice, continuum, and multiscale Green's functions. He is a recipient of several awards for his contributions to the field, including the Distinguished Fellow and Lifetime achievement Awards, and the Eric Reissner Medal by ICCES (International Conference on Computational Engineering and Sciences) in 2017, 2013 and 2004 respectively. He received a Bronze Medal from the U.S. Govt. (Dept. of Commerce) for scientific research and technical leadership in 1996, the Multicultural award by Boulder (Colorado State) in 1994 and the Pride of India Award for Excellence in Sciences in 1992. He was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Physics, UK in 1974. Dr Tewary has two books and over 130 research publications to his name, which include research papers, review articles and book chapters.
