ERWIN K. THOMAS is Co-ordinator of the Graduate Program and Associate Professor in the Department of Mass Communications, Norfolk State University. He has published widely on various topics dealing with mass media in the United States and other countries. His most recent book is Make Better Videos with Your Camcorder (1991).BROWN H. CARPENTER has been a reporter and editor for the Norfolk Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star for 25 years, covering newsbeats of all kinds and contributing book reviews regularly.
