Harnessing the Wasted Mechanical Energy from Walking for Irrigation

Autor Jacob Naanlong Dafiel, Abdulmumin Akoredeley Alabi
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 21 feb 2012
This book present the design of a mechanical system that harness the energy hitherto wasted while walking, for the purpose of irrigation. The existence of man on Planet Earth is continuously threatened by adverse climate changes, global warming, pollution and many more. These has been attributed largely due to use of fossil fuels, release of harmful gases into the atmosphere and destruction of natural vegetation. A switch to the use of alternative energy sources or renewable energies have been singled out as the most effective way of reversing this trend. This work is meant to draw attention of the World to an alternative source of energy which has not really being exploit but is available in large amount; that energy is Mechanical Energy. For the third world countries where the resources and technical know-how needed to install/maintain solar panels and wind turbines are scarce, embracing the use and investing in researches for the development of mechanical energy harnessing mechanism like this one would not be out of place. This mechanism, if fully developed, can be used to irrigate vast hectares of land and provide food for the growing population of the World.
