HE ANSWERED THE CALL

Autor Lysa Phillips
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 19 mai 2019
One of Anthony Sean "Sauce" Phillips' biggest desires in life was to become a

firefighter. After seven years of prayer and waiting for the call, God answered.
Filled with excitement and encouragement from his wife, Lysa, and his mother,

Dee, Anthony walked into Engine Company 10, dubbed "The House of Pain," in

Washington, DC, ready to do what God had called him to do, serve others and

his community.
HE ANSWERED THE CALL: Coping with Our Loss-The Family's, Friends', and

Firefighters' Perspectives shares the real-life, sensitive story of Anthony "Sauce"

Phillips' final call to duty by those who loved him and those who worked beside

him, sharing their struggles of his passing, how it impacted them personally and

professionally, and the mechanisms they have used to cope over the years.

Losing a loved one is traumatic, whether a family member or a friend. Losing

them in the line of duty, with no warning, can be even more detrimental. It is

also an overwhelming, frightening, and painful experience. Those left to mourn

often find themselves in a complex web of emotions. Although death is beyond

our control, the wonderful memories left behind can shine the light on how such

a tragedy can transform into a testimony for others as they cope with their loss.

Notă biografică

A native of Grenada, West Indies-The Isle of Spice, Lysa Phillips wears many hats: mother, entrepreneur, marketing and design professional, and a woman of God. However, the one she cherishes the most is mother. Family and motherhood are the most important commitments in her life, raising three children over the last twenty-six years.

A graduate of Strayer University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing, with a minior in Human Resources, Lysa is the owner of LPS Marketing Designs, LLC, specializing in creative marketing and print graphic design solutions.

Of the many trials and tribulations Lysa has endured throughout her life, she is also challenged with a health condition that would alter her life forever. In 2003, Lysa was diagnosed with Lupus, an autoimmune illness that affects the organs and skin. Over the years, her struggle has not been
easy, but she continues to persevere. She has been engaged and dedicated to spreading awareness, educate, and bring attention to the fight to end this illness by sharing her story, taking part in fundraising events, and partaking in online support groups. Her fight has become more critical after learning her daughter has the same illness.

Although Lysa is intuitive, with a gentle spirit, she is ambitious and leaves no stones unturned. Her strength, determination, family, and faith in God are the nucleus of her being.
