Healing

Autor Yuliya Shkvarko
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 6 aug 2020
I hope this book helps you find the peace and solace. I hope it gives you the sense of being understood, that you are not alone and that you can also come out of the darkness and find the Light. I wrote these poems within the age of 20 and 23, my transformational years from being a lost little girl to a mature young woman, who found herself. This is my journey to Light, the journey that was extremely challenging at times, but at the same time truly fascinating, for which I am deeply grateful. This is the journey of looking for a true meaning of life, which for me, as I discover within those three years, was and will always be - Love. At 20 I was so deeply hurt that I did not want to believe in this feeling anymore, but as Rumi said: "If you desire healing, let yourself fall ill" and when I have allowed my illness to bloom...I got cured. I hope these poems help you heal too. This book would not be possible without the belief in me of my wonderful mother, my beloved husband and our dear family friend Peter Heath.

Notă biografică

By day an Opera singer, by night a poet - Yuliya Shkvarko is 23 years old creative persona, whose main life aspiration is to give her audience the sense of soul comfort. Yuliya's first language is Russian, the language she had created her first works in. However, when Yuliya moved to Australia, in the age of 14, she has slowly but surely started writing in English, until reaching complete comfort with the use of this language. This book features Yuliya's poems from the time when English already became one of "first" languages. Yuliya's deep knowledge of Russian and English literature, as well as great fascination by a German poet Richard Dehmel, have resulted in Yuliya's unique writing style that reflect her cosmopolitan life journey.
