Heart Attack and Back

Autor Steven A. Jaynes Editat de Patti Sculley-Lane
en Limba Engleză Paperback
When people ask me about my experience, which happens frequently and is the reason for writing this book, I know their questions before they ask. When I start to explain why I think I had the attack, I can see familiarity in their eyes. Sometimes I get the feeling from folks inquiring about my experience that they don't really want me to answer. It seems they would be more comfortable if they could cover their eyes and peek at me through their fingers My hope is that you will fi nd this book informative and entertaining. However, if I can help one person to face reality, instead of going into denial when they experience cardiac diffi culty, this book will be a success There are approximately 1.1 million heart attacks every year in this country. One third endin fatality, primarily due to denial. The sooner a cardiac victim gets medical help, the less severe and less life threatening the attack can be.

Notă biografică

Steven Jaynes lives in Merrimack, New Hampshire with his wife, Laura and their two children, Julie and Steven Jnr.

Struck down at age 47 with a life threatening heart attack, his experience and feelings before, during and after the his surgery are the basis for this book.

Steve has written this 'slice of life' account for friends and family of heart attack victims.

Through Steven's book, you will learn exactly how some of the procedures feel and what the hospital experience is like.

The reader is taken through the whole even of actually having the attack, the people who intervene and save his life, the ambulance ride, emergency room experience and much more.

It is not a "how to " book, preventative advise or medical writing. It is instead a window in on the actual experiences he endured and its interwoven with a message for everyone about denial and how it is a serious killer.

Heart attacks are the number one killer in our society today and several hundred thousand people die each year because they deny the symptoms or signs they are experiencing. This book explains how denial almost killed the author and how important immediate medical assistance is to the survival of someone experiencing cardiac arrest.

The author's hope is that denial awareness will save lives!
