Heartstone

They share a love of long walks, enjoying the peace and quiet of nature, and they eat a lot of salami and peanut butter when nobody's looking. But for Mike and his dog Rowdi, the bond between man and man's best friend is about to take an unexpected turn.

While taking a walk along the Spokane River, the pair discover an unusual object-a stone with mysterious powers, clearly not of this world. Known as the Heartstone, this supernatural relic plays an important role in the functioning of the universe and must be returned to its home before it collapses.

But when strange dreams and occurrences begin to haunt Mike and Rowdi, it's clear that the Heartstone has attracted the attention of other species-some who hope to digest it for energy and others who want to use it to save all of civilization.

If they hope to restore the balance of the universe, man and beast will need to separate friend from foe and keep the gluttonous Sloptinians from devouring it whole.
