Life was always complicated for me even as a child. Growing up in a house where no one acknowledged you unless something was needed to be done or abuse was crossing someone's mind. I was abused in all ways possible. Whether it was verbally, mentally, sexually, or physically, I was that go-to person. Life was tough and got tougher along the way. I walked the long, lonely, dark, narrow dirt road called life by myself. I always had bad thoughts going through my mind. I thought about suicide many times, but then I thought why bother, no one would care. I carried so many secrets hidden within me about what I was going through daily until one day I couldn't carry them anymore. I found myself, and that's what I needed to do. I found someone who showed me it's okay to breathe, step back, and not worry about what next. I wrote this book after my husband died as therapy for my soul. If this book can help just one child, woman, or man get out of a bad situation, then I know it was worth putting my story out there. See I am me, and that's all I can be.
