Textul de pe ultima copertă
MEDIEVAL STUDIES / SPIRITUALITY Hildegard von Bingen, twelfth-century Rhineland mystic, was one of Earth's most evolved and visionary individuals. Her alchemical weaving of earth and sky, water and fire, in Mystical Visions (formerly titled Scivias) is a magnificent fusion of divine inspiration and human intellect. As a visionary record, Mystical Visions is perhaps the most complete and powerful documentation of mystical breakthrough in recorded history. Hildegard's work influenced thousands during her lifetime, and was highly respected in religious, scientific, political, and artistic circles. After her death, it was suppressed by the ecclesiastical authorities. Now, after 800 years, these visions are again available to those open to the reawakening of mystical consciousness. ." . .depicts in a series of dynamic, complex, and exquisite images the encounter of divinity and human being in the flow of world harmony. . ." --Sarah Roche-Mahdi, The Women's Review of Books "Bruce Hozeski's translation of Mystical Visions succeeds admirably in accommodating the twelfth-century perspective and Hildegard's own unique worldview in terms that are very approachable. He is to be commended for a very sensitive and readable translation." --Timothy O'Neill, Gnosis magazine Translator BRUCE HOZESKI is a professor of English at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.
