Notă biografică
Ikuhiko Hata received his PhD in modern history from the University of Tokyo. Now retired, he has been chief historian at Japan’s Ministry of Finance and has taught at the universities of Takushoku, Chiba and Nihon. He has also taught at Princeton and the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. In 1993, he was awarded the Kikuchi Kan Prize. He is the author of Nankin jiken (The Nanking Incident), Showashi no nazo o ou (The Riddles of Showa-era History) and Ianfu to Senjo no Sei (Comfort women in the battlefield). He also contributed a chapter on ‘Continental Expansion’ in Vol. VI of the Cambridge History of Japan, and is the author of many other works.
