During the Iran-Iraq war, Saddam Hussein gassed Kurdish villages on the Iran-Iraq border. What would it have taken to save one such village? Through information gathered at a game of cards while in convalescence, a nameless agent of the secret society Eyes of Freedom gets his opportunity to find out.

The last citizen of Abadoun to die may be the unborn child, who could as easily live to be a soldier against Saddam or as much a savior as the political prisoner the agent is tasked with rescuing. And this man will think to himself, "How much are tomatoes worth in America?"
