His previous book Memories and Poems from a Sunny Clime, which recounted his arrival in Provence with his family and working as a chef in the Var to his often exasperating but amusing thirteen years as the butler of a very eccentric millionaire in Monaco. Some of his readers had asked if he would be publishing a book of his poems, so here it is.
