The Georgia 64th Infantry Regiment was organized in 1863, It initially mustered 800 men, consisting primarily of men who were too young to serve earlier, veteran soldiers from disbanded commands and conscripts. It had seen little combat before Olustee, but was considered a well-trained and commanded unit. The regiment spent most of its enlistment prior to Olustee in Florida, primarily in camps in the vicinity of Quincy and Tallahassee. After Olustee the regiment was transferred to Virginia where it participated in the Petersburg Siege and Surrendered at Appomattox. Companies Of The GA 64th Infantry Regiment Company A: John K.
