Recenzii
In this insightful and thought-provoking book, Sarah Logan examines both global convergence on certain broad features of counter-radicalization across many countries, along with key cross-national differences on important details of the policy in two in-depth case studies on Britain and the US. This comprehensive comparative analysis is essential reading for anyone who wishes to understand where counter-radicalization has come from—and where it is going.
This book provides the exceptionally valuable contribution of a framework for analyzing the goals of PVE/CVE programs that both scholars and practitioners have lacked until now, and how and why these terrorism prevention programs vary between countries. Sarah Logan examines counterradicalization as persuading at-risk populations to accept narratives of their inclusion in their national society. This approach links to key theories of both terrorism and international relations and will be important for a wide range of research on violent extremism.
Sarah Logan provides an exceptionally thoughtful and in-depth analysis of the efforts to counter radicalization in the United States and the United Kingdom. This is a must-read text for anyone who is interested in understanding current counter-terrorism policies and the challenges that democracies face in curbing the proliferation of extremism and improving the public's resiliency to radical mobilization.
