Holidazed: Humor Me, cartea 1

en Limba Engleză Hardback

With her witty and self-deprecating sense of humor, Charlotte Observer humor columnist, Tracy Curtis, shares a collection of Christmas columns past. Holidazed is a spirited look at the chaos and craziness of the season, and the absurdity of trying to make it perfect

Because Christmas isn't perfect and it never has been. The video card replaced the Facebook card that replaced the Christmas card. People are gifting kidneys, like you could ever top that. The kids can make advent wreaths, but can't make their beds, Elf on the Shelf won't do his job, Santa's getting dissed on holiday napkins, and Starbucks apparently killed Christmas with a single red cup. And nobody knows the words to these carols - why is everything ye, yonder, yon - yore, troll and don? Who talks like that?

Holidazed reminds us all that nobody's perfect - especially at Christmas

Notă biografică

Tracy Curtis is a humorist, writer, speaker and syndicated humor columnist for the the Charlotte Observer and The McClatchy Company. Before becoming a writer, she enjoyed a fifteen year career in radio, television and film. She studied journalism at the University of Georgia, earned a BA in radio-TV-film production, and kicked off her career at CNN in Atlanta. She associate produced for "The World Today with Bernard Shaw," "Crisis In The Gulf," and "War In The Gulf," which was nominated for an Emmy Award in News Coverage. She also produced, wrote and edited a weekly half-hour documentary-style news show called "The Big Story," and was nominated for an Ace Award in News Special/Series. An interest in film took her to LA, where she worked as a production assistant on movie sets for directors and producers like John Landis, Ridley Scott, Demi Moore, John Carpenter, and George Lucas. A move back to the east coast to Charleston, SC led to freelance writing and field producing for "Entertainment Tonight," "Access Hollywood," and "Hard Copy." She then worked in radio advertising sales, while also writing and producing radio commercials. Finally settling in Charlotte, NC she had her first child at 36. She entered Fox Charlotte's 'Rising Star' contest, and a fluke win sent her back to LA to cover the "American Idol" finale and help crown Carrie Underwood the queen of music. The Charlotte Observer asked her to blog about her LA experience and "Tracy on the Red Carpet" became Charlotteobserver.com's first ever blog. The huge popularity of the blog led to another blog, "Stork-Raving Mad - 40 And Pregnant," and eventually her very own newspaper column. Her weekly humor column can be found Sundays in the Charlotte Observer and is syndicated through The McClatchy Company, nationwide. Tracy lives in Charlotte, NC with her two sons Colton (13) and Fletcher (9) and enjoys an amazing co-parenting relationship with their dad, Matt. And when she's not writing, she's unloading the dishwasher. "Holidazed" comes out Christmas 2015 and is the first book in Tracy Curtis's "Humor Me" series. Look for more books in 2016!
