How many times can one person lose those she loves and be left alone and still manage to pick herself back up and start over? Hope Masters asks herself that question when she learns the love of her life, Maxwell Abernathy, a wonderful man she has planned on spending the rest of her life with, has been killed in a car accident. Made even worse is the callous way Maxwell's mother breaks the news to Hope as she forces her out of his house and onto the street with no where to go and no one to turn to in the world.
