Horn Technique

Autor Gunther Schuller
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 4 mar 1992
The first edition of this book was published in 1962 and quickly established itself as the classic guide to all aspects of horn-playing, with chapters on tone-production, exercises, legato and staccato playing, and the art of practising. For this new edition the author has greatly enlarged the Repertoire List, which gives details of over 1,000 pieces from the solo, chamber, and orchestral repertoires which include one or more horns. The author draws attention to key works in each genre. There are also a number of corrections and up-datings throughout the text and a new preface outlining recent developments in the horn world.

Recenzii

'This popular book was first published in 1962 and as a standard reference for the instrument it has proved of value to a whole generation of horn-players ... Schuller has greatly enlarged the repertoire list.'Gary McPherson, International Journal of Music Education, Number 20, 1992
'this is no aimless stroll down memory lane; Schuller's practical common sense is as relevant today as it was in 1963. He is always thoughtful, but his approach is empirical rather than theoretical. He believes in technical orthodoxy, but in a sensible, pragmatic way. Schuller writes vividly, drawing upon his own experience as a horn player, conductor and composer.'Daivd Hoult, Music Education, Volume 10 - 1993
