How Could She Persuade Him

Autor Lexy George
en Limba Engleză Paperback
HOW COULD SHE PERSUADE HIM by Lexy George A Romantic Comedy WITH RECIPES Anna and Freddy had a brief but intense romance ten years ago but it all ended in a bitter misunderstanding. She's made a new life for herself running Knightsfield, a manor house now used as a conference centre but she's never forgotten him. Briefly her hopes of a second chance are raised because he, now a garden designer, has been contracted to carry out a televised conversion at the Knightsfield estate - a year-long project. Unfortunately Freddy now has a young, slim, and sassy girlfriend who also happens to be the granddaughter of Anna's employers. To make matters worse, after their first meeting she's devastated when she overhears Freddy saying "I barely recognised her...she used to look so young. She was well, very slight then." Anna's not sure she can stay and watch the new romance growing but she can't let her elderly employers down, they depend on her to run the business. She takes comfort in food, especially chocolate, which obviously doesn't help her constant struggle to lose weight. Perhaps her restyled hair will help though and there's also a new friendship with a much younger man. As the year progresses the story unfolds against the backdrop of Knightsfield. Well-meaning friends, embarrassing relatives, concerned employers, ailing staff, a grumpy cameraman and even the family dog, all play their part. If you see any connection between "How Could She Persuade Him" and Jane Austen's book, 'Persuasion', Lexy George will be very flattered. It's her favourite Jane Austen and was the inspiration for this book. PS: THERE'S RECIPES TOO at the end of the book. Enjoy IF YOU ENJOYED THE BOOK PLEASE REVIEW ON AMAZON. Thank you.
