Notă biografică

Ashton Paul has always been passionate about building all his life, an interest that started at school in Tulse Hill when he was introduced to technical drawing. This interest blossomed and he went on to take a BTEC qualification in construction technology. After starting his career working in a surveyor's office in Wimbledon, he enrolled onto a part-time degree course at the South Bank University with the aim to achieve his ambition of becoming an Architectural Technician. To grow his practical skills, he moved into the construction industry and joined a firm of builders in Wembley, where he learned the skill of project estimating and site surveying, before developing project management skills with Tarmac Facilities Management and the Metropolitan Police. He also managed contracts for the Royal Parks worth over a million pounds. His next move was to start his own practice and go into partnership. In September 2010, he took advantage of a reduction in labour rates and carried out a small extension on his home. Everything went to plan, but Ashton came to realise how stressful the home extension process was. Despite him working in the industry, it was left to his wife to make key decisions and manage the builders while he was at work in the office. He had an epiphany moment and decided to dedicate the next 10 years to helping women that find themselves in the same position that his wife found herself in with their home extension. This book is the result. Ashton and his wife have two children, and when not working, he goes to the gym, plays rugby, and dances and informally teaches Modern Jive (LeRoc).
