As Casey turns 40, she feels that she has nothing to show for her life. Despite the reasurances from her close friends and family, Casey believes being an unemployed widow with three teenage children, is not an attractive proposition. So she takes steps to change her path with some unexpected consequences. By sheer coincidence, Casey finds herself in the company of Ryan, and it isn't long before they realise how they both feel about one another. However, not everyone is happy about their relationship and a plot is developed to terminate it, at any cost. After starting a new job, Casey befriends her colleague and line manager Brenda, but her new friend is hiding a few secrets, and it become very hard for Brenda to keep them locked away for long.
