William Frank Diedrich has crafted a beautiful story set in the United States in both mid-Michigan and Tucson, Arizona that follows the journey of Kevin, a forty-something man searching for real adulthood. He is assisted in his quest by several strong female characters and a half-Mexican, half-Hopi teacher who helps him see how the Universe works. Diedrich's story weaves together themes of love, sex, spirituality, religion, and growing up, yet manages to present several points of view without being preachy or attempting to sway the reader. The honesty and vulnerability of Kevin, and his friend, Rachel, make this read both insightful and valuable to anyone who has given up the status quo in favor of something better.
