This collection of essays showcases recent work on Hume and the Is/Ought question. There are four distinct attempts to redefine and prove Hume's No-Ought-From-Is thesis in such a way as to evade the famous counterexamples of A.N.Prior. The rival approaches are explained and discussed together with their implications for meta-ethical theory.

LO is a Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy, La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia STEPHEN MAITZEN is Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Philosophy at Acadia University, Nova Scotia, Canada EDWIN MARES is Professor of philosophy at Victoria University of Wellington, New ZealandALAN MUSGRAVE is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Otago, New ZealandARTHUR PRIOR (1914-1969) was one of the greatest logicians (and most interesting philosophers) of the Twentieth CenturyGREG RESTALL teaches Philosophy at the University of Melbourne, Australia WADE L.
