Notă biografică

Yuichi Amano was born and grew up in Yokohama, Japan. He used to rule a kingdom when he was little, and he was a good king. He left the kingdom as he grew, as all other grownups told him that staying there was not "cool". A few decades later he realized his kingdom was so beautiful that he should have protected it instead of deserting it. He is now hoping his son and all children know how precious their kingdoms are, and will remain as a king and a queen forever to protect them. "I am a king" is Yuichi's third children's book, following his first, "My dad's hat", and second, "The flower buds". Yuichi lives with his wife, son, and dog in Seattle, Washington. Hiroko Nagatomo was born in Miyazaki, Japan. Hiroko got interested in painting when she was three years old and set her dream to become an artist in painting at the age of ten. Her parents supported her love for painting throughout her childhood, which helped it grow into a passion. In an environment where her parents provided her with freedom, she could explore her artistic style at any time. Hiroko sought the art of colors as she took a bachelor's degree in Oil Painting at Musashino Art University, Tokyo. Her interest and style evolved further in "Bokusho" in which an artist expressed her impression only with the lines with Chinese ink ("Sumi") without the colors. Her pursuit of artistic expression kept growing beyond the canvas, in art installation and performing arts. Hiroko lives in Seattle, Washington. Mako was born in Japan and grew up in the US. She's a musician, a storyteller and a at-home-baker. Translating children's books has been a new discovery which she found to enjoy. Her other works include "My Dad's Hat" and "The Flower Buds" by Yuichi Amano. She lives now in Seattle, Washington with her family.
