In this second chapter book of the series, "I Can Read with Max and Pat," Max and Pat have three new adventures together. In the story, "Max Helps the Hen," hen tells Max that she is tired of sitting on her eggs. Max volunteers to take a turn providing that hen, "Comes back soon." But hen doesn't come back soon, and then the eggs start to jump and crack open Will Max have to do the hen's job? Story Two: "Can I Play With You?" In this story, Max goes all over the farm looking for a friend who can play, but everyone is busy. Will Max ever find a friend who can play? Story Three: "Max Has a Bath-Again" Pat's friends are coming over for a party and Max really needs a bath. But Max keeps chasing animals and getting dirty all over again.
